SOQ International Academy AI Use & Transparency Policy

AI Use & Transparency Policy

Official platform: SOQ International Academy (soq.edu.sg)
Organisation: SOQ International Academy Pte. Ltd. (UEN 201723514D)
Effective date: 14 September 2026
Scope: Singapore-first operations; aligned with PDPA, PDPC guidance on personal data in AI systems, IMDA Model AI Governance Framework principles, and Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 (CPFTA)

SOQ International Academy uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) and automated tools to build, improve, and operate parts of our platform and learning experience. This Policy explains how we use AI, what you can expect, and how we protect users.

1. Why we use AI

We may use AI to:

  • Assist development and maintenance of the SOQ International Academy platform and content workflows
  • Support learner services (for example help responses, content recommendations, drafting assistance, translation support, or study aids where enabled)
  • Improve operations (moderation support, analytics, quality checks, fraud/abuse signals)
  • Enhance teaching and marketing materials, subject to human review for accuracy and fairness

2. Human oversight

AI is assistive. For matters that materially affect learners—such as formal assessment outcomes, certification decisions, enrolment eligibility determinations, refund decisions, and regulatory reporting—SOQ maintains human accountability. Automated suggestions do not by themselves create binding academic or contractual outcomes unless expressly confirmed by authorised SOQ staff or systems configured for that purpose.

3. Personal data and AI (PDPA)

  • Where AI features process personal data, we apply our Data Protection Policy.
  • We seek to notify users of AI-related purposes where required and limit use to stated purposes.
  • We instruct vendors (including AI providers) to process data under appropriate contractual safeguards and not to use SOQ learner data to train public models where we can contractually restrict this.
  • Do not submit unnecessary sensitive personal data into AI prompts (for example full NRIC, health details, or others’ personal data) unless a feature expressly requires it and you are authorised to do so.

4. Accuracy, hallucinations, and user responsibility

AI systems can produce incorrect, outdated, biased, or incomplete outputs (“hallucinations”). You should verify important information independently. SOQ does not warrant that any AI output is error-free or fit for a particular purpose. For course assessments, you remain responsible for academic integrity—submitting AI-generated work as your own where prohibited is a policy breach.

5. Fair trading and marketing (CPFTA)

We will not knowingly use AI to:

  • Publish fake reviews or fabricated testimonials
  • Create deceptive images or claims about courses, outcomes, or pricing
  • Mislead consumers about whether content is human- or AI-assisted where disclosure is material

Course outcome statements (employment, salary, business results) are illustrative only unless expressly guaranteed in writing.

6. Prohibited AI misuse by users

Users must not use SOQ AI features or platform tools to:

  • Generate unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
  • Impersonate SOQ, trainers, or other persons
  • Bypass security, scrape data, or attack systems
  • Create misleading advertising about SOQ or third parties

7. Transparency about AI-built / AI-assisted products

SOQ may develop, customise, and resell platform capabilities that were created or enhanced with AI-assisted engineering. That fact does not affect:

  • SOQ’s ownership and licensing rights in the Services
  • Your limited licence to use the Services under our Terms and Conditions
  • Our obligations to provide the Services with reasonable care and in line with Singapore consumer law

8. Children and vulnerable users

Our programmes are generally designed for adult learners. Where minors participate with parental/guardian consent, AI features should be used under appropriate supervision. Contact us if you need a feature restricted for a specific learner profile.

9. Security and incident response

We apply access controls and monitoring appropriate to AI-enabled features. Suspected misuse or data incidents involving AI tools should be reported to jeff@soq.edu.sg (DPO) and academy@soq.edu.sg.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy as our AI features and Singapore guidance evolve. The latest version will be posted on this page.
