Certificate Validation
Employers and the public verify certificate authenticity on the public validation page by entering a certificate identifier. Validation depends on an active certificates capability and issued records.

Surfaces, roles and current terminology
| Surface | Current navigation terminology | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Public validation | Public ? Certificate Validation | Feature-gated certificates capability |
| Issued certificates | Learner Panel certificate downloads / completion records | Requires templates and completion rules |
| Admin certificates | Certificates tools at the configured Admin URL | Feature not activated stub when inactive |
Permissions, settings and activation
- Invalid IDs must fail closed — do not invent a pass result for unknown codes.
- If Admin certificate screens show Feature not activated, treat issuance tooling as unavailable until enabled.
- Validation copy should brand SOQ International Academy only.
- Keep quiz and certificate completion rules aligned so issued IDs remain verifiable.
Core workflows
Validate a legitimate certificate
- Complete a test learning path that issues a certificate.
- Copy the certificate ID from the download or certificate record.
- Open the public validation page and submit the ID.
- Confirm the result shows the expected learner and course details.
Confirm failure handling
- Submit an obviously invalid ID.
- Ensure the page reports failure without leaking internal data.
- Retry a valid ID afterward to prove the checker still works.
- If all checks fail, verify the certificates module and templates are active.
Result states
- Success: Valid IDs return the correct certificate summary; invalid IDs fail closed.
- Pending: Certificate issuance is delayed because completion rules are not yet met.
- Denied: The certificates module is inactive or the ID is not recognized.
- Error: Template or lookup failures break validation; restore certificates configuration before public use.
